Scott Abshet

Co-Founder and Chief Exucutive Officer

As co-founder and chief executive officer of ShiftPixy, Scott Absher brings 30 years of experience in organizational development, capital development and employment industry expertise to the company. Absher started his career in product development and support, serving large national retail chains before turning his focus to the employer services industry.

Mr. Absher has held a number of high-level executive, business development, sales and marketing and management positions with various companies, building and launching a number of successful product lines and companies focused on business-to-business products and services.

Since 1994 Mr. Absher has enjoyed significant involvement in the business services and employer service industries. He has built and trained many national sales organizations and independent agent forces to deliver predictable growth in the business service industry. His work in the development and launch of captive insurance programs and platforms brings a unique and rare insurance competence to ShiftPixy.

Mr. Absher has advised firms in technology and business service-related ventures in matters of capital formation, liquidity, and growth strategy. He has been actively involved in the early stage fundraising, business strategy and development efforts of many startup ventures throughout his career. He is a graduate of The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago majoring in Theology.


AMANDA MURPHY

Chief Operating Officer

Amanda Murphy has served as a director since February 10, 2020. Prior to her election to our board of directors, Ms. Murphy served and continues to serve as our Director of Operations and has been vital to our success and growth in that position. Ms. Murphy has been active in the operations side of the staffing industry at a senior level since 2007. Ms. Murphy received her certificate in HR Management from California State University – Long Beach in 2007. Ms. Murphy also studied law at Taylor University in Selango, Malaysia.


MANUEL RIVERA

Acting Chief Financial Officer

Since June 2021, Mr. Rivera has served as ShiftPixy’s Vice President of Accounting. Prior to joining ShiftPixy, Mr. Rivera was employed from July 2020 until June 2021 as Director of Financial Accounting Advisory Services for Eleven Consulting Group, a privately held financial consulting and accounting advisory firm. Before joining Eleven Consulting, he served from October 2014 through February 2020 as Financial Accounting Advisory Services Senior Manager for the worldwide accounting firm of Ernst & Young. Beginning in August 2003, he was employed by the worldwide accounting firm of KPMG, which he left as an Audit Senior Manager in September 2014. Mr. Rivera earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Accounting, cum laude, from Inter-American University of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and Puerto Rico.


DOUG MOSS

Chief Technology Officer

Doug Moss serves as the Chief Technology Officer for ShiftPixy, overseeing platform development and product teams as they work to deliver a world-class, customer-focused solution. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience, Doug has applied his expertise in various roles at companies such as Levy Restaurants, Pacific Life, The Los Angeles Galaxy and his own consulting firm, Evergreen Experience, always focusing on delivering the very best customer experience. Doug’s extensive knowledge spans both the web and mobile customer arenas, and traces back to the early days of the mobile industry.

Before joining ShiftPixy, Mr. Moss worked for a short time at Salesforce, learning how their product teams built and managed their extensive platform and sales process. Prior to Salesforce, Mr. Moss spent 18 years at Pacific Life developing and managing their CRM and Mobile application platforms, focusing on enhancing the interactive customer experience. Mr. Moss is using his experience to lead a team of talented architects and product owners to develop a world-class, test-driven, innovative, and automated platform to support the ShiftPixy client base. With his leadership and direction, ShiftPixy’s dedication to development continues to grow.
